| Action & effect of various colors on the body and their healing qualities….. |
| According to Meditation color therapy is one of the excellent supportive therapies for healing of our mind and body. When we sit in meditation for long time, some of them visualize the colors. As my personal meditative experience sunlight plays an important role in the recovery from chronic diseases. The rays of sun improve digestion and nutrition, quicken blood and lymph circulation and increase the elimination of impurities through the skin. According to known vastu & spiritual master Sri S N Misra; red, orange and yellow color will rule in the business for coming 20 years. He also says; now blue or dull color is gone. It will not give good effect on business in the future; maybe it is right because everybody need high volume of energy in this competitive life. Red and yellow makes you hot for this so it is complete true that theses colors will rule in the future. If you need success, you must opt these colors but white color must be needed for balance of mind, so let mix the white and yellow color also in the meditation. White is associated with total peace and yellow is for joy and happiness. Yellow is also for laxative and diuretic. It is stimulant to the brain, liver and spleen. I use it also for liver, throat disorder and in impotency. |

SURYA BHEDI PRANAYAM:
Surya bhedi is one of the best breathing techniques in the series of pranayam. It is a panacea for cough dominated person. If left nostril or ingla nadi naturally predominates during the day, it is advisable to practice this. During the flow of ingla or left nostril mind and senses are introverted, a right brain hemisphere function, parasympathetic nervous system is active and body and mind become cooled. With this parameter anybody can practice this surya bhedi pranayam.
It stimulates sympathetic nervous system. Yogi swatmaram says it eliminates dosha of kapha and wind and remove dullness of mind and body. Gherand says it prevent old age and death.
Technique
Sit straight in comfortable meditative pose. Start inhale and exhale by right nostrils only with closed left nostril. But I am focussing here for another type of surya bhedi practice which is prescribed by yogi swatmaram/hathyog pradeepika.
In a straight meditative pose close the left nostril and slowly breathe the air in through right nostril. |

Meditative method;
Sit straight in any meditative pose with closed eyes; if not possible to sit straight, you can sit on the chair, take back support. If you are dominated by kapha or flam, then you should start with little fast breathing for two minute only. After that, make breath slow and normal. Now imagine your breath as a red color while you inhale and exhale for 5 minute. It will increases heat in your body and mind within five minutes practice of this color meditation but you should avoid to do this if you are closely associated with pitta or bile domination.
Right nostril breathing is also effective for increasing domination of red color. If you practice it for 5 to 10 minute then get benefit more. |
