DO PRANAYAM; OBESITY AND MIND

The relation between mind and obesity is very close. Generally, people do not think seriously about this. If you examine carefully, definitely you will found the great roll of mind behind obesity.  The Mind is 80 percent responsible for obesity because mind become over dependent upon solid form of food. When mind cannot hold their senses, especially eyes and tongue, then never can be hold the spoon and ultimately obesity come. It is completely truth that the mind has a great roll behind the obesity. In my case study obese people claim about nothing to eat, but it is impossible to say that less eater put on excess weight.

  • Obese people need to control their mind; they must practice medi yoga asana, pranayam along with breathing exercises.
  • Saliva makes excess to obese people. They have to control their sense and mind, especially on eyes and taste.
  • Need to control on hyper acidity. Because the ratio in the body of acid and alkaline becomes disturb. High alkaline food may reduce excess weight very easily.
  • Alkaline based food also help to maintain normal sugar level in the obese body.
  • Generally obese people are dominated by kapha (flem). Kapha dominated people put on weight very easily because the fat accumulates fastly to them.

They need to change their nature through the practice of yoga, meditation and diet. Here are some pranayam which you may fallow.

Surya bhedi pranayam:
Surya bhedi is one of the best breathing techniques in the series of pranayam. It is a panacea for cough dominated person. If left nostril or ingla nadi naturally predominates during the day, it is advisable to practice this. During the flow of ingla or left nostril mind and senses are introverted, a right brain hemisphere function, parasympathetic nervous system is active and body and mind become cooled. With this parameter anybody can practice this surya bhedi pranayam.
It stimulates sympathetic nervous system. Yogi swatmaram says it eliminates dosha of kapha and wind and remove dullness of mind and body. Gherand says it prevent old age and death.
Technique
Sit straight in comfortable meditative pose. Start inhale and exhale by right nostrils only with closed left nostril. But I am focussing here for another type of surya bhedi practice which is prescribed by yogi swatmaram/hathyog pradeepika.
In a straight meditative pose close the left nostril and slowly breathe the air in through right nostril.
Timing – do it for 10 minute at a stretch and thereafter start anulom-vilom for 30 minute.

Anulom-vilom (alternate nostril breathing)
“by proper practice of pranayama etc, all diseases (mental or physical) are eradicated. through improper practice all diseases can arise.”
yogi swatmaram states that alternate nostril breathing purifies the nadis (whole nervous system) within three month.
Technique: sit in any comfortable meditative pose or on the chair, close the right nostril and inhale slowly, steadily and deeply through the left nostril, after full inhalation hold it for a while and now close the left nostril and exhale slowly steadily through the right nostril.  Slowly inhale again through the right nostril and exhale from the left. This is one round .lets do this for 5 to 10 minutes with closed eyes.
Checkpoint: while practicing, be sure that there should be no strain on the face and the head and body do not tilt in any direction. if you have high blood pressure or heart trouble, then avoid holding breath exercises.

Effect: it helps to reduce the level of stress, frustrations, anxiety and hypertension.
Note- do it for 30 minute and get result, reduce 1kg weight within a week.
