Yoga is well known for life style management than for treatment of disease, but medi yoga, has design this physiological and psychological both. As I believe, the obesity is totally life style problem. If you examine about obese nature, will found that these types of people are very lethargic, drowsy, dominated by kapha nature, repetitive nature, self-destructive nature and food addictive. The biggest drawback is food addiction and lethargy or lack of exercises. When talk about cure, then it can not be started from lifestyle management, it should be started from shatkarma.
In medical term, this big is the door of many diseases. It deteriorated metabolism, liver, kidney, heart and back etc. I also agree with these medical terms, because this may gives a lot of problems.
If I say in an ayurvedic term, the kapha become addicted to food and substance, which isolate them. Pittas become addicted substance that fuel aggressive behavior and vatas are more addicted to pain killers. These side effects may put on weights too.
